88% of home buyers in 2011 used the internet as a source of real estate information, according to the National Association of REALTORS’ Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers.
And while almost all real estate agents these days have some sort of website, most aren’t maximizing their online efforts. According to a 2011 study of the Real Estate Industry & Social Media Use by Postling.com:
73% of homeowners say they’re more likely to list with a realtor offering to do video, yet only 12% of the real estate industry currently have YouTube accounts.”
